FEE: $65 (Lab fee due by September 13, 2010)

SUPPLIES:
Memory stick / “thumb drive”
3-ring binder (2” minimum)
2 braded and pocketed folders
1 package of plastic sheet protectors
Poster board (2–3)
Notebook paper
Pens (blue or black ink only!)

1 box of tissues

RULES:
Be in your assigned seat when the bell rings.
Respect for your classmates and teacher is expected at all times.
Come to class prepared to learn every day. This means bringing a pen or pencil, your binder, supplies and any assigned homework.
Appropriate usage and care of equipment is expected at all times.
Lost or damaged equipment will require reimbursement to the
school for repairs or replacement.
Never leave the classroom without permission. Always sign out
and take a PJ Pass.
Eating or drinking in the classroom or around the equipment is not permitted.

TARDIES:
You are expected to be on time to this class; this means inside the classroom and in your assigned seat when the bell rings. The LDHS tardy policy will be strictly enforced.

GRADES:
Grades will be weighted using the following percentages (unless otherwise informed):
Daily—30% (Practice Assignments, Journals/Homework, Quizzes)
Major—50% (Tests, Projects, Reports, Photo Assignments)
Final—20% (Portfolio)

The portfolio will consist of your photography work for each six weeks. Photos will be mounted on paper and captions written detailing what the picture is about.

THE EQUIPMENT:
Most of your work after the first six weeks will involve using the digital cameras, computers, printers, and other equipment provided by the school. Once again, very expensive equipment will be utilized. It is imperative that all proper procedures, as explained throughout the course, be understood and practiced at all times. Students will be assigned to work-groups of four, and will be assigned one digital camera per group. A Camera Check-Out form must be completed each time a student uses the equipment! The form must be signed by Ms. Craig before the equipment is taken.

I ask that everyone wear comfortable shoes while shooting outside photo assignments. I strongly suggest not wearing open-toed shoes or flip flops.

If you are caught goofing off during a picture taking day, you will receive a zero for that
assignment. Any horseplay with or around the equipment will forfeit your photo privileges
and will affect your grade for this course.

TUTORIALS:
Appropriate questions, concerns, or comments are always welcome. I am available on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:45 am to 8:15 am (or by appointment) for
tutorials. You will be expected to schedule this time with me in advance.
