Welcome to Math! I'm excited to have you here. This website will be a great tool where everyone can keep up with assignments, get worksheets, find websites to provide help and keep up with current events going on at LDMS. Please check the agenda daily!

My name is Cindy Chidester and I am one of the math teachers here in 6th grade. I am married to Scott Chidester and have 2 children, Tyler who is a sophomore this year and Kara who is in 4th grade. I have been teaching for 11 years with this being my 3rd year at Lake Dallas.

I look forward to seeing my students each morning. A reminder to all that school starts each day with the first bell at 8:30 and the tardy bell will ring at 8:35. School ends at 3:53. I will hold tutorials Tues. - Thurs. after school. Tutorial busses will run at 4:30.

I am available for tutorials Tues. - Thurs. after school from 4:00 - 4:30. This time is to be used for making up missed work and asking questions about material that is unclear. Tutorial busses will begin running Mon.-Thurs. starting Sept. 14th. Please note, this is NOT a study hall. There is simply not enough room for everyone to be working in here. This is strictly a time for particular problems to be addressed.

Students will have an assignment in math each day. There will be time in class to work on the assignment, however, any work not completed in class must be finished at home and turned in the following day. Please also note, any homework grade that is below a 70 SHOULD be corrected and turned back in to bring that grade up to a 70.

We will be working with our math facts so much this year that it is essential for all students to know their facts completely by memory. Please make a set of flashcards and practice them each night. This will be a big help toward success in 6th grade math.

Family Access is available to all parents and is a wonderful tool to keep track of how your child is progressing in each class. Parents can see up to date progress of their child's assignments, keep track of missing work, absenses, tardies, lunch accounts and things of this nature. If you have not signed up for family acces, please contact the front office to obtain password and login information.

The students in my homeroom (5th period) will be going to Rockin' C Ranch Sept. 14-16. The cost will be $50. Please look for more information during the first week of school. Some information can be found at classroom.ldisd.net/webs/mcromis/rockin_c_ranch_2nd_chance.htm
