Writing this week -we will be writing our own scary stories. students will fill out the outline, and use the 5 steps writing process to finish and publish the story. stories may be read in the library at the end of the month during the story time.

English-we will be working on prepositional phrases and using them in our writing.

We will also begin reading a story this month, called The Watsons Go to Birmingham--1963. This story is about the hilarious world of ten-year-old Kenny and his family. The Weird Watsons of Flint, Michigan. The family decides to go to visit Grandma in Birminham, Alabama -in the South- it is during a time of racial tension.

Students will read a story called Sleepy Hollow.
