Teacher Bio |
I entered the education profession in 1996 as a Journalism and Art teacher with Northwest ISD for 4 years. In 2000 I joined the LDISD staff as an art teacher at LDMS. Beginning the 2004-2005 school year I became the LDMS yearbook advisor. During the summer of 2008 my family and I moved from Krum, where we lived for 15 years, to Corinth. And we are absolutely loving life here! My family consists of my husband, Gary and my daughter, Adelyn. Not only do I enjoy the convenience and closeness of everything in this area, but I also enjoy seeing my students and their parents when I am out and about around town. I enjoy scrapbooking, making my own greeting cards, rubber stamping, long bike rides, kayaking and 4-wheeling with my family and friends. In October of 2009 I began taking Karate and Self Defense classes. I am currently a brown belt & plan to work my way up to black belt. In December of 2010 a friend encouraged me to start running and training for a 5K. I have since discovered a new passion for something I thought I was not capable of. Now when I have a day w/out running I feel I have missed out on something great. I try to run at least one 5K race each month and sometime more. My long term goals are to run a half marathon and eventually a full marathon. I also enlisted in a fitness bootcamp and love working out twice a week with my bootcamp buddies. I love teaching at LDMS and can't think of anywhere else I would rather be. My students and their parents are the best! |
