Success starts with preparation & organization
Supplies
Periodically Hobby Lobby and Michael's Arts and Carfts will put their sketchbooks on sale. To see other discounted offers throughout the year on art supplies from Hobby Lobby and Michael's go to Hobbylobby.com or Michaels .com

In order for all art students to be successful in class they must purchase and maintain a list of art supplies during the school year. Pencils and erasers will not be available to borrow from the teacher. Students are responsible for bringing these supplies to class everyday. Students not having the appropriate supplies will be given an alternate reading assignment from the textbook. The following items can be purchased at your local Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby or Michael's.

The middle school art teachers also have a limited supply of the items listed below for purchase through the school.
6th Grade Art
1 9"x12" or 8 1/2"x11" spiralbound sketchbook - 50 sheets or more (Sketchbooks with other types of binding are okay also but tend to fall apart quicker and easier.) It may be necessary for students to purchase an additional sketchbook if they use all pages before the end of the semester.

1 package #2 pencils with erasers on end

2 Magic Rub or Pink Pearl erasers (Note: ArtGum tends to crumble easily.)

1 3-ring flexible plastic folder - this will be used to hold all worksheets and will become a workbook for the course. It will be kept in the classroom along with the sketchbook.

Yearbook
Students are NOT required to have a camera for this class. However if they have a camera and chose to use it that is fine. The yearbook staff provides these. If students have access to the internet at home it can be helpful in the event they need to work on their layouts after school hours in the evenings.
