Creativity unleashed
This is going to be an exciting and creatively filled year!!! I am so happy to be in my 14th year of teaching Art to students. I have taught at the high school level (for 7 years) and currently at the middle school level for 7 years. I absolutely love being able to teach the students the BASICS of Art and see their creativity begin to be UNLEASHED!!!! I am all about prepaing them for High School and getting them to appreciate Art in general more than they currently do....I love that the students begin to look at things differently when they start to understand the basics.
6th grade past pencil work
6th graders will be learning how to control the regular pencil in ways that only artists can do....with lots of values and artistic quality! They will begin on Tuesday, the 25th of August with learning about a Doodle Page (as seen on Right) and begin to work creatively with a pencil. This is a project that will be due on a specific date later in the semester...We begin work on it early, so as they complete a project they will have something else to work on while waiting for others to complete.
Clay is FUN!!!
8th grade students will be learning how to make coil pots and pinch pots the very first thing....this teaches them how to use the clay, and what it will do for them, and how it works in general. This can be very rewarding, and very challenging at the same time.
