Introductions to teacher and other students in class will be at the beginning of class.. followed by classroom rules (which will be signed by each student) and classroom expectations.

Students will receive a syllabus and an Art Supply List (which can also be found on my web pages).

Supplies will need to be turned in by Friday, August 26th.

Students will begin their very first project today....Doodle Pages. I will be demonstrating different techniques of working with a regular pencil to create art. They will learn how to create patterns and values and make all that they draw work together to form a cohesive doodle art page.

This project is not one that will be completed immediately - It is an ongoing project. As the students complete other projects early and have time - they will be allowed to work on their doodle pages.

As the year goes, the students will do a pencil, marker, colorpencil, and mixed media doodle pages. These projects are actually very beautiful if the students take their time and use the techniques they learn in class.

Students will be working on a T-shirt design for a contest. the "spirit of Christmas Fun Run 2011" contest. We have had the winner at this school the last 5 years, and hope to continue that tradition :)
