Welcome to 6th grade language arts! I am looking forward to meeting my students and getting the year started. Middle school will be filled with many new experiences: electives, changing classes, pep rallies, and more.
I am an LDHS alumni and come from a family of educators so I feel very much at home in a school setting. I LOVE MY JOB and want my students to love learning.
This year we will be using our textbooks as well as tradebooks and other resources like the internet and our school library.There are a couple of things students will need to bring for LA class: a one subject spiral and two solid-colored folders with brads. We will have weekly tests for both reading and English. Expect a DOL quiz every Friday. If students take their spirals home and study, a parent can sign it and the student will receive 3 extra points on their test score. There will also be a comprehension/vocabulary test over the week's story.
