Paper Bag Book Report

Goals and Objectives:

After selecting and reading a book independently, you will create a Paper Bag Book Report using an ordinary paper bag. You should choose at least five items to place in the bag to represent significant events or characters from the book. For example, Stargirl may call for a rubber mouse to represent Cinnamon, a ukulele to signify the instrument Stargirl played, a cookie to stand for the treats Stargirl put on students' desks, a megaphone to characterize the time she was a cheerleader, and a figurine of a cactus to indicate the town of Mica where Stargirl lived. Each student should explain how the items he or she has chosen relate to the book. This makes for a fun oral presentation, which exceeds the traditional book report for both you the presenter and the audience.

Step 1

Choose a book that interests you from the choices below!!! Make sure that the book you choose is something that you are going to enjoy and actually READ!!!

Step 2

READ THE BOOK!!!

Step 3

Get a lunch or gift bag:
. On the front of the bag, put the title, author and publisher. Bag must be decorated.
. On one side of the bag put the conflict.
. On another side of the bag write a paragraph about your favorite part of the story.
. On the back of the bag, summarize your story.
. Inside the bag put 5 objects that represent significant events or characters from the book.
