My first line of communication will be via email. I prefer communicating using email because it is the most efficient use of time. A phone call will be made if necessary. Please make sure that the school records have your current email address and phone number where you can be reached. Correct information can be verified online through Family Access. If you do not currently have a log-in id, I suggest contacting the front office to assist you with this.

Textbooks:
Math textbooks will be issued. There is an online version of the text available
as well. Please reference my website for instructions on accessing the online
textbook.
Grading Criteria:
Daily/Homework Assignments 50%
Projects/Tests/Quizzes 50%
Tests and Quizzes:
Per district policy, district created assessments will not leave the classroom. All others will be released to the student to take home. Test rework will be available in tutorials following a test for any student who makes below a 75. If problems are reworked correctly an adjustment to the test grade will be made. No test will be adjusted past the grade of 80. Attending the tutorials to do test rework is not mandatory, but it will be available. There will be a one week window of time for test rework from the day the test is returned. Once the window is closed, the grade becomes final.
Homework:
Students will be given time to work on most assignments during class. If they are making good use of their time, homework will be limited if any. Assignments not finished in class will become homework. All work needs to be shown.
No Work = No Credit
Tardies:
Students need to be ready to go when the tardy bell rings. Excessive tardies will result in the student being called to the office.
Absent work:
Students are responsible for the absent work. The agenda is posted on my
board and on my website under the “Assignments” tab. The student may speak
with me if more clarification is needed.
Students will have the number of days they were absent plus one to turn in
their work. Work not turned in at the appropriate time will be considered late.
Late Work:
Work not turned in at the beginning of the student’s class period on the
assigned due date is late. There will be a penalty for late work.
1st day late: 30 points will be deducted
2nd day late: 50 points will be deducted
3rd day late: Zero is recorded in the gradebook
Class Expectations:
1. Come to class prepared and on time
2. Respect anyone who enters my classroom
3. Follow classroom procedures for completing assignments
What happens if a rule is broken?
1. Warning
2. Detention and conference with student
3. Detention and contact parent or guardian
4. Referred to Administrator
*Some offenses do require an automatic office referral.
Tutorials:
Tutorials are held in my classroom Wednesday afternoons at 4:00 and Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:00. Students needing extra help need to see me immediately.
Asking for help is highly encouraged. Tutorials are reserved for students
that need extra help, not for students that need to finish assignments.
