Write a full paragraph about an activity from one of the folders or on the classroom wall.
Be sure you try a variety of different things from week to week.
You may not use the online option more than twice in a row. Do not write up the same game more than once.
Essay Question Option:
Your six-year-old brother wants to know what you are learning in math class. Choose one lesson that we covered THIS week, and explain it in one or two good, long paragraphs, with EXAMPLES, words that a young child could understand, and pictures or diagrams. (You must have all three: words, examples, and diagrams.)

The following equation was written on the board: Triangle + Triangle + Diamond + Star - Triangle = Horseshow.
If Triangle = 4, Star = 3, and Horseshoe = 12, what is the value of Diamond? Explain in a paragraph, showing work for EVERY step.

After Thanksgiving dinner, Bill took home half a pumpkin pie. At home, he cut this into 5 slices. He ate 4, then split the last piece with his cat. What fraction of the whole pie did the cat eat? Explain with works, numbers, AND a diagram.

Kate made pink paint by mixing 1 tsp of res with 4 tsp of white. Seeing that this was the perfect pink, she decided to make a bigger batch of this shade. She poured her last 2 pints of red into an empty bucket. How many pints of white must she pour into the bucket to get the perfect shade? Explain, showing work.
Online Option:
Spend at least 15 minutes playing one of the following math games from the "links" pages: General Coordinates Game, Maze Game, Arithmetic Four, Order of Operations Four, Fraction Four, Addition and Subtraction Equations, or Exploring Equations. Write a paragraph describing how you played the game and what skills it helped you develop or practice. What did you do well? What still needs work?
